How can you help a child like Roxy?

  • 23 April 2021

Roxy was born to a mother with a drug addiction. Left hungry, dirty and alone. As a baby, she soon learnt not to cry. She was removed from her mother’s care for her safety.

Aged four Roxy was struggling to talk and still in nappies. Traumatised by her past, she was angry, confused and needed a lot of help and support. She waited and hoped, but nobody felt they could give her the stable family home she longed for.

Coram is there for children like Roxy. Coram has been helping children find new parents through adoption for more than 40 years. We know little lives take years to heal and so we promise life-long support to every adopted child and their new family.

The care system can be the start of a disruptive and difficult journey for babies and children. Children come from a range of different backgrounds, but many will have suffered neglect, abuse, witnessed domestic violence and have physical or mental disabilities. We are highly experienced in finding and equipping adoptive parents to give these children the stability and security they desperately need. But we can’t do this without your support.
