Family Drug & Alcohol Court: Community Care Conference

11th September 2012

District Judge Nicholas Crichton will be discussing the work of the award winning Family Drug and Alcohol Court (FDAC) at the Community Care Conference 2012.

FDAC, run by children's charity Coram and the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust, helps parents stabilise or stop using drugs and /or alcohol and, where possible, keep families together. The first of its kind in the UK, FDAC ensures parents see the same judge throughout proceedings and receive support from a mutli-disciplinary team linked to the court.

The presentation will feature as part of Community Care's Drug and Alcohol Misusing Parents Conference aimed at children and families social workers, child protection social workers, housing support workers, children's centre staff and other professionals working in addiction recovery.

Delegates attending the conference can learn how effective joint and multi-agency working can provide whole family support and recovery for drug and alcohol misusing parents and how to effectively safeguard children and young people.

When:
The conference takes place on 11 September 2012.  Judge Crichton's presentation is at 11.45am.

What:
