Associate Advocate- Midlands
Midlands – £16 per professional hour / £8 per travel hour
Associate Advocates will have the exciting opportunity to provide critical issues advocacy support as part of Coram Voice’s innovative Always Heard project. This Department for Education funded service ensures that young people who have been unable to access their local advocacy support are assisted to have their voices heard.
Our Associates Advocates also provide advocacy to children and young people that Coram Voice have been contracted to provide support to by local authorities such as Shropshire and other commissioning agencies.
As an Associate Advocate, you will support children and young people in a range of settings and locations. You will be self-employed, and be prepared to work with a degree of flexibility to accommodate short notice referrals and changing circumstances which occur in children’s lives. Associate Advocates are home based and deliver their advocacy support in the community.
Coram Voice is looking for a wide variety of people to take on our roles, however we would particularly welcome applications from care leavers or individuals with experience of being ‘looked after’ by the state. We are also actively encouraging applicants from Asian, African and Caribbean backgrounds to join our staff and freelance pool. We recognise we are a predominantly white workforce and are genuinely committed to encouraging candidates from diverse communities in order to improve the services to the children and young people we help.

Coram Voice enables and equips children and young people to hold to account the services that are responsible for their care. We uphold the rights of children and young people to actively participate in shaping their own lives. We provide independent advocacy services for vulnerable children and young people in and on the edges of the care system.
Coram Voice Advocates support, enable and empower young people to be heard. Our advocates are professionals who are highly experienced and trained in working with our diverse communities of young people. They listen, champion and fight tirelessly for young people.
