Coram Children's Legal Centre is a national charity committed to promoting children's rights in the UK and worldwide. Coram Children’s Legal Centre aims to:
- Promote and uphold children's rights within the context of UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and the European Convention on Human Rights in the UK and internationally.
- Monitor and develop law, policy and practice concerning children and young people, to inform and influence policy makers and the general public.
- Improve access to justice through legal advice, information and representation for children, young people and adults working on their behalf.
We are recruiting an immigration & asylum solicitor to join CCLC’s friendly and committed team. The successful applicant will be expected to have at least 3 years’ experience of running legal aid immigration & asylum cases for children, young people and families, and to demonstrate a solid commitment to upholding the rights of vulnerable children and young people.
We represent children and young people up to the age of 25 years old, and families with children. We also undertake strategic litigation, including interventions.
Our immigration lawyers work closely with colleagues in other teams in the Legal Practice Unit (community care, family and education law), as well as with other departments within the Coram group, including Coram Voice and the Migrant Children’s Project.
We welcome applications from solicitors at different stages of their careers, and we are open to those seeking either a part-time or a full-time position. The salary for this position is between £28,000 and £38,000 per annum (pro rata) dependent on experience.
