12 Days of Christmas at Coram
Support for homeless youngsters this Christmas
Christmas messages of support have been flooding in for the care leavers and homeless young people who now live in Coram’s Supported Housing project.
Coram provided paper baubles to our supporters and asked them to add a personal Christmas message of hope for the young people in the project. Supported Housing provides accomodation for youngsters that offers more than just a roof over their heads. Our specialist team encourages teenagers to pursue education, employment and volunteering opportunities, so that they can continue in a positive direction for the future.
75,000 young people experience homelessness in the UK every year and one third of homeless people have lived in care. With Coram's Supported Housing project, 86% of the young people we work with continue with their education, employment or training 6 months after leaving.
Our Supported Housing film brings to life how Coram gave one care leaver, who was homeless at 16, a safe, comfortable place to call her own and a range of support services and advice to give her the helping hand she needed to create a brighter future.
