Tilly, aged 15, created the winning design to promote Coram Children’s Legal Centre’s online Child Law Advice Service, which gives free advice on all areas of family, child and education law. 

 

Seeking to raise awareness about the new online service, the competition challenged young people to create images reflecting the theme ‘justice for children and young people’ and embody the positive approach CCLC takes to promote the rights of children and young people in the UK and abroad. 

 

Tilly said: “I am really excited to add this experience to my CV and to spend the £100 voucher prize!”

 

CCLC’s Managing Director, Kawaldip Sehmi, said:

 

“Congratulations to Tilly. Given the current climate and the pressure families are under, the service is needed now more than ever. Legal advice is so expensive that it’s beyond the reach of many people. Ms Brady’s contribution will help raise awareness about the availability of free legal advice to ensure children and their families get access to the help they need."

 

With the generous support of marketing implementation agency Hogarth World Wide the winning design has been transformed from a drawing into a dynamic animated screen saver for computers, and a wallpaper for mobile phones (pictured). Both have been nationally distributed to a wide range of individuals and organisations who may wish to use the service themselves or signpost it to parents and children they work with.

Ms Brady’s efforts will be felt widely, as the design will be used to raise awareness of the new online Child Law Advice Service, launched in early March by Cherie Booth QC, Patron of CCLC. 

 

Funded by the Department for Education, the new easy to use confidential online service offers free advice on all areas of family, child and education law. Users have access to downloadable factsheets covering everything from bullying to school exclusions, a virtual assistant to guide them to relevant information, and a new live web chat service which connects enquirers directly to an online legal advisor.
