Coram Offers Camden Parents Free Parenting Sessions This Summer
Children's charity Coram is offering parents and carers of babies, toddlers and pre-school children living in Camden the chance to take part in FREE local parenting sessions worth up to £100 this summer.
The half-day sessions aim to help Camden parents and carers become more confident and happier about caring for their children.
Sessions for small groups of parents and carers will cover top tips on a range of subjects including feeding, sleeping, good behaviour, learning play and relationships.
There are additional sessions covering parenting apart (for separating or separated parents), and information for parents and carers of children with autistic spectrum disorders.
To take part, parents or carers of children under 5 years old living in Camden need to pick up a free CANparent voucher from local Boots stores, GP surgeries or local Children’s Centres.
Sessions are currently scheduled to take place at Coram Parents’ Centre, Mecklenburgh Square, WC1N 2QA,on:
Mary Rose Brady, Head of Coram’s Parents’ Centre, said: “Parents tell us, no one gives you a manual when you have kids - so here’s our manual. Each session is based on what years of evidence show will best support children in their early development. So if you are a parent in Camden, do pick up your voucher and register for one of our sessions."
The parenting sessions, which are being run in conjunction with CANparent, are part of a national pilot scheme that was launched in Camden last month by Prime Minister David Cameron. The scheme aims to help parents in Camden, Derbyshire and Middlesborough through parenting sessions provided by a range of organisations including Coram.
Families can find out more about Coram’s parenting work and how to use their CANparent vouchers at Coram on 0207 520 0311 or parentscentre@coram.org.uk or at www.coram.org.uk
