Background
Coram has been commissioned by Ealing Council to deliver its commitment to improve outcomes and reduce inequalities for young children and their families.
The key aim is to give priority to children’s early development and bridge the gap between outcomes for disadvantaged children and others. We are commited to early intervention, to give social and emotional support to current and future generations of babies and young children by helping them and their parents before difficulties arise. Coram Ealing Outreach Service sits within the context of the Healthy Child Programme and early intervention services, as part of a progressive universal approach to improve children’s life chances.
Aims
The aims of Coram Ealing Outreach Service are to:
- Provide Children’s Centre access to every family in the borough with children under 5 and parents-to-be.
- Encourage families to use the services available through Children’s Centres and local organisations.
- Encourage families to join activities such as Stay & Plays, Talk Time, Sticky Fingers and drop-in sessions at local Children’s Centres and other community settings.
- Encourage children to make friends and learn through safe, fun and stimulating play.
- Help parents to meet other local parents in a friendly and welcoming environment.
- Obtain access to information, advice and support on a wide range of issues including child development, employment, housing and benefits.
- Provide one-to-one support to families through home visiting, helping in a range of areas including play in the home; parenting support; nursery applications.
