Coram draws on over 270 years of experience in offering children a better future. We run one of the most long-standing adoption services in the UK. Our Head of Adoption was awarded an OBE for her efforts in 2010.
The very detailed preparation we undertake with prospective adoptive parents, and the lifetime of support we offer, means more than 97% of Coram’s adoptions are successful, compared to a national average of one in five adoptions breaking down (Prime Minister’s Review of Adoption, 2002).
In 2011, Coram's pioneering partnership work with Harrow Council's adoption service was cited by the Children's Minister as a 'blueprint' for other local authorities to follow.
We continually research what works best when it comes to caring for vulnerable young children, and in doing so we have created our own approach to adoption that has led to the Coram service becoming known as one of the best in the country.
We do our best to match children with adoptive families who we feel confident will give them the best start in life. The only way we can continue to provide this vital service to children is if people come forward as adopters.
