Defining best practice in work with vulnerable children and young people – research, evaluation and policy development
As well as providing services, it is a key element of Coram’s mission to develop, and promote best practice in support to vulnerable children, young people and their families. Coram speaks out on the issues that matter most to children.

As well as piloting new approaches, and evaluating our own work carefully, we engage with managers and practitioners of children’s services and children, young people and parents themselves through participatory research. Their insights allow us to develop a unique understanding of what works and what doesn’t when it comes to helping vulnerable children.
Coram provides consultancy to Local Authorities and other voluntary organisations in service improvement, needs assessment, research and evaluation. Coram has support from the Esmeé Fairbairn Foundation and is a strategic partner to the Department for Education.
