Working with schools and developing multi-agency networks.

Co-ordinated by Coram, Camden Children’s Fund Primary Schools Project supports primary school children at risk of social exclusion through early intervention at selected schools in the London Borough of Camden. The overall aim of this project is to provide a multi-agency model to prevent the social exclusion of primary school children and to achieve improvements in social and emotional functioning, educational attainment, rates of exclusion, engagement with support services, physical health, attendance and communication and engagement with and support for parents.

The Camden Primary Schools Project is currently working in six primary schools and is focusing on reducing numbers of permanent and fixed-term exclusions, reducing known criminal or anti-social activity by pupils, improving academic attainment through Key Stage measurement and improving attendance rates.

We are also drawing on our experience and engaging with Camden in extending and developing integrated working and the development of the ‘Team Around the Child’.
