Coram Housing and Support Service works with vulnerable young people aged 16-21. We provide accommodation for up to 38 young people across North London and support them to gain the knowledge and experience necessary to live their lives as independent young adults.
Our services include:
- Supported Accommodation
We provide a range of safe and supportive environments throughout London where young people can be enabled to develop the emotional and practical skills needed to manage their lives and to use support networks in the community. We take a needs-led approach to help each young person prepare for the transition to total independence.
- Life and Social Skills Programme
We have developed a structured, yet flexible, accredited programme as part of the AQA Unit Award Scheme. On taking up a tenancy, young people may follow as may units as necessary to develop their knowledge and skills. The programme aims to give formal recognition for the learning and experience gained.
- Aftercare
When a young person is ready to move-on into independent housing, we help them to seek appropriate accommodation, set up and move into their new home, and provide advice on related issues such as financial management, health, relationships, social and community activities. We provide resettlement to all our clients which is tailor made to meet individual needs.
