Inspiring Women: STEM
The next in Coram's Inspiring Women panel series will have a focus on STEM with leaders in the fields of science, technology, engineering and maths
On the panel will be Dr Emily Grossman, an internationally acclaimed science author, public speaker and TV personality. An expert in molecular biology and genetics, with a Double First in Natural Sciences from Queens' College Cambridge and a PhD in cancer research, Emily also trained and worked as an actress, and now combines her skills as a science broadcaster, educator, writer and trainer.
Dr Jennifer Schooling is Director of the Centre for Smart Infrastructure and Construction (CSIC), at the University of Cambridge. Jennifer and her team work with 41 Industry Partners, including Crossrail, Thames Water, London Underground, Highways Agency, Arup and Infrastructure UK, to develop commercial technologies, tools for data analysis and asset management, best practice guidance codes and specifications for scale-up and standardisation.
Our most recent panellist to join the line up is Claire Cockerton, founder & CEO of Plexal, one of the largest innovation centres in Europe, located at Here East, on the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. Claire is a serial entrepreneur: having founded and successfully exited businesses in the fields of financial services, technology & sustainable architecture. She is a specialist in tech clusters, innovation services and startup eco-systems. Founder of ENTIQ, an innovation design and delivery firm, Co-creator of Level 39 and the Branson Centre for Entrepreneurship, founding CEO of Innovate Finance, and designer of Cognicity (a smart city accelerator).
