Building on research by child psychotherapist Jenny Kenrick published in 2009, Coram has been raising awareness of the impact of contact arrangements on vulnerable infants who are the subject of care proceedings.
Coram’s response to the Department for Education’s (DfE) Review of Contact Arrangements for Children in Care (August 2012) is an example of how we influence policy. It highlights the need for improved guidance to ensure the infant’s experience is taken into account when making contact arrangements.
Coram Practice Notes are aimed at service managers and practitioners, and set out briefly the key points Coram suggests should be considered in improving practice.
