Coram’s education charities launch free resources to support children’s wellbeing, literacy and learning at home
Coram’s education charities, Coram Life Education, Coram Beanstalk and Coram Shakespeare Schools Foundation, have developed a programme of free online resources for teachers and parents to use during the lockdown, helping to boost children’s emotional wellbeing as well as their academic learning at this time.

As the Government confirmed that funding arrangements to support the childcare sector through the pandemic will end in January*, new research reveals that over half (58%) of local authorities in England believe local childcare providers will permanently close as a result of this support being withdrawn.

Ahead of the Government’s imminent review of the care system, CoramBAAF is hosting an event on Monday 14 December to hear from key figures across the sector and care-experienced young people themselves on what the review needs to do to make life better for young people.
Coram Beanstalk is today launching a nationwide campaign to recruit 1,000 new reading volunteers in 2021 to support even more primary school children whose learning has been impacted by the pandemic.

Coram hosted its 150th Adoption Activity Day in Bristol on Saturday 30 November, a unique event bringing prospective adopters together with children waiting to be adopted in an informal setting. Since their inception in 2011, the Adoption Activity Days have resulted in over 1,000 adoptions, approximately one in four children attending an event.
