Coram receives largest single gift in its history: £4m Paul Hamlyn Foundation endowment to support children’s rights and voice
Coram has today received the largest single gift in its history. The £4m gift from the Paul Hamlyn Foundation (PHF) will fund The Hamlyn Endowment for the Rights and Voice of Children, providing a significant boost to Coram’s work advancing the rights of children and young people and ensuring that their voices are heard, and providing legal services for vulnerable children and their families.

On Wednesday 10 April, Coram Voice announced the winners of Voices 2019, its national writing competition for children in care and young care leavers, at a ceremony held at Havas Kings Cross, and hosted for the third year running by actor and former Doctor Who star Peter Capaldi.

Coram Children’s Legal Centre (CCLC) has today joined Citizens UK, Let Us Learn and others to call for the Home Office to stop making a profit on children’s immigration and citizenship applications, on the day the Independent Chief Inspector of Borders and Immigration (ICIBI) publishes his report on fees.
Coram has committed to work with partners in government, local authorities, charities and schools to deliver effective practical solutions aimed at tackling the current rise in knife crime, following its first ever sector-wide knife crime seminar yesterday.

A new survey of young people aged 16-25 leaving the care system has found that almost one in four (23%) have low life satisfaction, compared to just 3% of 16-24 year olds in the general population.
