Past parenting projects
Coram is committed to helping parents do the best they can for their children.
Our parenting services offer early intervention and support to avoid families reaching crisis point. Examples of previous projects include:
Coram's Parents' drop-ins, funded by Camden Council, were set in the peaceful grounds of Collingham Gardens on the Coram Campus. They were free to all parents in the area with children under five.
Parents and children were encouraged to enjoy interactive activities, such as art, messy play, music sessions and a fantastic outdoor space. Sessions included a weekly drop-in for Bangladeshi parents and children.
As well as providing a welcoming and friendly environment for families, the sessions acted as an early intervention and signposting and referral mechanism to enable and support vulnerable families to access targeted and specialist services.
Camden Futures was a service offering support and advice to Camden-based families with significant needs, where the eldest child was aged between five and ten years old and in need of additional support.
A partnership between Camden-based charity Elfrida Rathbone, Citizens Advice, Coram, and a group of local GP surgeries, it aimed to deliver joined-up support to families. As part of the Camden Futures partnership, Coram was responsbile for parenting support including guidance, one-to-one support, family work and mediation sessions. Our highly skilled creative therapists also supported children’s learning, relationships, and emotional literacy through individual, group, or family art and music sessions within schools.
