Coram teams up with family film SKETCH for UK release and special Leicester Square screening

  • 9 September 2025

Coram today announces an exciting new collaboration with film distributors KOVA International for the UK release of SKETCH, a film that sees a young girl’s drawings of fantastical creatures come to life. Coram has launched a competition inviting children and young people aged 11-17 to ‘sketch your monster’ for the chance to win tickets to an exclusive screening of SKETCH in Leicester Square on Sunday 28 September, with the winners chosen by star of the film, Bianca Belle.

SKETCH is a heartfelt family film about a young girl whose imagination and exploration through art helps her to cope with grief. When her sketchbook falls into a strange pond, her drawings come to life – imaginary yet real, and on the loose. As the town descends into chaos, her family must reunite and stop the monsters they never meant to unleash.

Coram provides art and music therapy, alongside specialist support, to help young people and their families build the skills and resilience they need to thrive. Music and art therapy allow children to communicate emotions and more complex stories than they could using words alone, helping them to understand distress, confusion or conflicted emotions.

Ahead of the film’s release in UK cinemas on 24 October, Coram and KOVA International are offering the chance to win family tickets to an exclusive screening event on 28 September. The event will invite the winners to step inside the film’s incredible world, with creative workshops, photo opportunities and food to enjoy.

The competition, ‘sketch your monster’, asks children and young people aged 11-17 to submit a drawing of a monster of their creation, with a brief description of their sketch. Two winners will be chosen by actor Bianca Belle, who plays the main character in the film, and will each receive a family pass (four tickets) to the event, and a free film merchandise item.

Anna Harris, Head of Parenting and Creative Therapy Service at Coram, said: “We are delighted to collaborate with KOVA International on the release of SKETCH. The film conveys just how intuitive and valuable the arts can be in helping us to process and communicate difficult emotions and make sense of our experiences, so there is a wonderful synergy with the work we do in supporting children and young people at Coram. The competition provides a memorable opportunity for families to experience the film, and we can’t wait to see the entries!”

Judy May, KOVA International CEO, said: “At KOVA International, we are passionate about films that spark imagination and carry deeper meaning. SKETCH is a story of creativity, resilience, and the power of art and community to face life’s challenges – themes that align perfectly with Coram’s incredible work supporting children’s wellbeing. We’re delighted to partner with Coram on this competition and look forward to welcoming families to the special screening ahead of the UK cinema release.”

The competition is open for entries until 12pm on 21 September 2025. To enter and for full terms and conditions, please visit coram.org.uk/coram-x-sketch-competition/
