Join Coram Kidscape’s free webinar for parents and carers this Anti-Bullying Week. Understand why children stay silent about bullying, and how to help.
Coram Kidscape, together with speakers Dr Nathalie Noret, University of York, and Samantha Hill, University College Birmingham, presents ‘Break the Silence’, an Anti-Bullying Week 2026 webinar for parents, carers and anyone supporting young people.
Bullying is too often treated as a behaviour issue to be managed rather than what it really is: a traumatic, chronic, and often hidden experience. In this webinar, we explore why children may stay silent — through shame, fear, and a lack of language for what’s happening — and what that silence is actually telling us.
We’ll share an accessible overview of the trauma behind bullying, then turn to practical strategies for creating safety, spotting the quiet signs adults may miss and responding well when a child first speaks up.
Finally, we’ll widen the lens to the whole family: the strain on sibling relationships, parental mental load, and co-parenting communication, and the way parents so often go silent about their own struggles while fighting for their child. We’ll close with an overview of the support Coram Kidscape offers to families navigating this.
