Big Adoption Day 2027

20 January 2027

Join the CVAA and Coram on the Big Adoption Day 2027, celebrating voluntary adoption agencies and all the work that we do to help find loving homes for children waiting to be placed.

Your event

On Wednesday 20 January 2027, we are inviting all voluntary adoption agencies across the UK to open their doors simultaneously to mark the Big Adoption Day 2027.

This is an opportunity to promote the benefits of voluntary adoption agencies and promote adoption as a permanency option for some of our most vulnerable children, by running an in-person or virtual event in your area.

These events can be an opportunity for adopters and adoptees to share and celebrate their positive experiences of adoption. They can help to counter negative depictions of adoption in the media and online and for potential adoptive parents to find out more about the benefits of growing their family through adoption.

Agencies will be encouraged to invite adoptive parents to speak at information events and to use audio, video or written case studies to give prospective adopters a more rounded picture of the realities of adopting a child or siblings.

Key messaging

The key messaging for Big Adoption Day 2027 highlights Voluntary Adoption Agency post-adoption support and the importance of shared experiences and community:

1. You’re not the first to walk this path.

Come together, share experiences and build a sense of belonging with others who understand.

2. Be part of our adoption community.

Connect with people who’ve lived adoption themselves and understand the difference that shared experience can make.

3. Here for what comes next.

Tailored support from specialists who understand the complexities of adoption, whatever the next chapter brings.

4. The choice is yours.

Consider a Voluntary Adoption Agency for flexibility and specialised, lifelong support.

National Trust – Digital Access Passes for adoptive families

We have partnered with the National Trust to offer 15,000 free digital Access Passes through the CVAA’s network of voluntary adoption agencies to adoptive families across England, Wales and Northern Ireland. The passes are valid for unlimited use between 1 January 2027 to 31 March 2027 (excluding Bank Holidays and the Easter Bank Holiday weekend), giving families chance to explore the National Trust’s coastline, woodlands, countryside, historic houses, parks and gardens.

Find out more information on the page link below, which can be shared directly with your adoptive families.

We ask that you keep track of the access passes you have distributed to your adoptive families. This is so the National Trust can keep an eye on expected visitor numbers to the properties in close proximity. We have set up a Google Spreadsheet for you to amend which you can access below.
