Speaker biographies:
- Andy Fuller is a Partner in the AI and Data Practice within EY, having spent the majority of his 30-year career helping public sector organisations make better use of data and technology. His achievements include devising and implementing a machine learning solution that helped dramatically reduce fraud in benefits claims; using automation to reduce the time to hire for large Healthcare client; and playing a leading role across multiple Government and Local Public Sector clients. As an AI optimist, Andy is well-equipped to bring theoretical examples and case studies to life and discuss the potential benefits of AI in the public sector. Andy is also well known in the team as a fan of AI for fun, including song development and bots which answer your questions in increasingly sassy tone.
- Peter Capsalis is a Data Scientist and AI specialist in EY’s AI and Data Practice within EY Technology Consulting. Peter holds an MBA from Hult International Business School, MSc in Data Science and Analytics from Royal Holloway University of London, is an AfDSP certified Data Scientist and GradStat member of the Royal Statistical Society.He has been working across Government and Public Sector, including supporting key national projects for central government and councils alike to understand how they can better align the support, and services to residents in a way that is meaningful, encouraging the use of technological advancements to leverage the incredible knowledge and capability held by the people in these organisations.
- Natasha Thomas is an Analytics Translator with 15 years’ experience in EY’s Technology Consulting, AI and Data Practice working with organisations across Government and Public Sector with a recent focus on Local Government and Not for Profit organisations. She completed her formal education in South Africa, at Rhodes University in the form of a joint Economics and Information Systems degree. She is driven to support organisations to solve real life challenges with the support of data and technology in a way that creates value for both the organisations and wider society, making sure those with the experience and capability are enabled to focus on the ‘important’ parts of their roles rather than the noise which often surrounds them.
