Our Voices in Action youth homelessness programme empowers young people with lived experienced of homelessness or housing insecurity to influence change.
Our Housing Rights Ambassadors do this through campaigning locally and nationally to change policy and practice, designing and delivering training to frontline professionals, and empowering their peers with knowledge of their rights through workshop delivery and content creation.

Ambassadors driving change
Voices in Action Housing Rights Ambassadors have exciting opportunities to campaign to improve policy and practice that impacts on homeless young people. They want to ensure homeless young people get the support they need and young people are prevented from becoming homeless in the first place.

Coram published a new report in December 2024 called 'The Door Is Still Closed'. The report finds local authorities are routinely failing in their legal duties to children aged between 16-17 years old who become homeless. Our Ambassadors shaped the policy recommendations, ensuring they were rooted in lived experience.

Glow in the Dark
Glow in the Dark is a collaboration between Voices in Action and Coalesce studios, co-produced by Voices in Action staff, a young professional filmmaker, and our Housing Rights Ambassadors.
This film is a powerful call to action for our society. We need to back Britain’s young homeless dreamers by tackling the hidden youth homelessness epidemic. One young person becomes homeless every four minutes (Centrepoint, 2024). Imagine how much potential is being stifled — how many writers, doctors, and leaders are being held back.

Free youth led workshops for young people and professionals
Voices in Action is a programme for 16-25 year olds with lived experience of homelessness and housing insecurity. We turn these challenging experiences in to drive to make change.
If you’re interested in booking in a workshop for your young people or staff please contact Crystal, our Youth Engagement and Co-production Officer, on crystal.crawford@coram.org.uk.

Workshops for young people
We have co-developed a wide range of housing rights workshops for young people. Our workshops look at what young people can do if they face homelessness, what their rights are and how to communicate with professionals to get their needs met
Workshops for professionals
Our workshops give professionals the opportunity to hear from young people on their experiences and best practice from a young person’s perspective.
We offer workshops to the following:
- Local authority housing teams – how to support young people effectively who are at risk of homelessness. Find out more here.
- Solicitors – how to work with young people to ensure they feel supported through the process
