Coram holds parliamentary event to mark 100 years of legal adoption in England and Wales
Coram CEO Dame Carol Homden is today (19 January) urging the government to ensure that adopted children and their families are given the support they need, at a parliamentary event taking place to mark the centenary of the Adoption of Children Act 1926, which introduced for the first time in England and Wales a legal process by which the rights and responsibilities for a child could be transferred.
GLL and Coram celebrate Big Adoption Day, with free access to leisure centres, gyms and sports facilities for adoptive families
Today (21 January) to mark Big Adoption Day 2026, charitable social enterprise and leisure operator GLL and the UK’s first children’s charity Coram have announced a new partnership, offering 500 free three-month memberships to Better leisure centres for adoptive families in London and across the country.
Campaign to get 1,000 children reading for pleasure
The Society of Authors and Coram Beanstalk have launched a campaign aimed at supporting 1,000 primary school children to become life-long readers.
