Whether you're studying, recently graduated, retired or between jobs, volunteering with Coram Voice is a great opportunity to gain experience of working for a national children’s rights charity specialising in providing advocacy to children in care and living away from home.
Coram Voice have a great opportunity for you to help in our work to support and empower children and young people, obtain work experience in a leading national charity, and develop your knowledge and skills whilst volunteering as a Helpline Advocate.
We believe this role will be of particular interest to people looking to develop a career involving advice, advocacy, children rights, legal work, social work and youth work. Or, for retired people interested in sharing your valuable experience of working in such careers to support the work of a children’s charity.
Our national helpline provides direct advocacy support to over 3,800 children a year and this number is increasing every month. To manage this demand and to continue to provide excellent services for children we are creating volunteering positions to support our work. Volunteers will assist the Helpline Supervisors to respond to calls from children, adults and social services including; taking referrals, providing advice and signposting to appropriate services and supporting the advocates to address safeguarding calls.
We are looking to recruit several volunteers however two of our posts have been made possible with funding from the Queen’s Trust, creating opportunities for young people to support other young people through voluntary and paid roles across Coram. For these posts we would therefore particularly welcome applications from young people ages 18-25.
If you are able to commit to working for us for a minimum of 1 day a week (with the option to do more) for a minimum of 1 year we would love to discuss this role further with you and answer any questions you may have.
To help you decide if this is the right role for you please feel email our Helpline Manger with your name and number for an informal discussion about the role at: [email protected]
Or to apply for the role straight away you can send your CV and a supporting statement, using the application form below, to [email protected]. Please detail your availability in your application.
There is no closing date at present for this role as recruitment is ongoing.
All posts are subjected to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check and successful candidates will not be able to work unsupervised with children or young people until the completion of this process.
