About the Storyteller App for children in care
Children in care can often be looked after by different people throughout their childhood, so as they grow older they may find it difficult to form and retain strong memories, which can be detrimental to their mental health, self-confidence and sense of identity.
The app will benefit children in care by:
- supporting therapeutic life story work
- capturing moments from their life for their care record
- helping the child or young person to convey their wishes and feelings
- preparing them during transitions, such as moving to a new home
- helping them, and the adult they become, to claim their own story and narrative.

An inspiring and practical talk designed for Local Authorities and Children’s Services providers, focusing on how to empower children in care to take ownership of their stories. This session delves into the transformative potential of storytelling as a tool to build confidence, resilience, and self-identity among young people in care. We’ll explore innovative approaches, including the use of digital tools and creative methodologies, to help children articulate their experiences in ways that feel authentic and meaningful. Drawing on insights from the Storyteller for Children in Care project, this talk will highlight real-world applications and success stories, while offering practical guidance for integrating storytelling initiatives into your care provision.
This session is ideal for anyone involved in children’s services, including social workers, foster carers, education providers, and policy makers. Let’s reimagine the way we support children in care by empowering them to take control of their narrative and envision a brighter future.

Piloting the app will give your children, staff and carers early access to a valuable tool that will make a huge difference to your children in care.
In addition, it will give your organisation the opportunity to influence the development of the app, to meet the needs of your children.
Your organisation will also be offered a discounted license fee once the pilot is complete.

3 months: £2,000 + VAT (includes set up, onboarding, unlimited users) then £4.00 pmpc after pilot *
*pmpc = per month per child. Standard cost is £5 pmpc and £3,250+VAT setup. Price will be discounted to £2.50 pmpc when the number of active child users per month exceeds 500.
