Breaking the Cycle (2017)

An evaluation of After Adoption’s programme, delivered in the Midlands, that supports women who had at least one child adopted. Coram was commissioned to explore the effectiveness of the programme which offers one to one and group sessions focused on building women’s self-esteem and confidence. The evaluation used depth interviews and focus groups with the birth mothers.

The sex and relationship education needs of young people: a review of research and school survey findings

Schools must be in a position to deliver statutory Sex and Relationships Education from September 2019. Coram Life Education, which provides PSHE education to nearly half a million children across the UK, wanted to understand how well schools are prepared to meet their statutory obligations, and what their support needs are.

Central East Regional Adoption Agency – Lessons Learned: A case study of the VAA-led RAA project

This paper aims to capture the learning from the Central East Regional Adoption Agency (CE RAA) project between June 2015 and July 2017. It is written from the perspective of Coram-i, although it was shared with the CE RAA executive group (i.e. the CE RAA DCSs/representatives) in June 2017 and any comments made by them have been incorporated. It aims to aid learning and to highlight enablers and disablers for the process of ‘Regionalising Adoption’ and achieving innovation in cross-sector working.

Coram-Kent post-adoption support partnership summary

Coram-i has been working in partnership with Kent County Council since 2012, helping it to improve its adoption service from an inadequate Ofsted judgement (2011) to a Good judgement (2017).
